Dhangadhi: The Communist Party of Nepal (Majority) has announced a nationwide shutdown on Falgun 20.

In a statement issued by the party’s central committee on Sunday, the bandh was declared with the objective of nullifying the elections, which the party claims are being conducted under an imperialist design. The party stated that the protest is aimed at opposing foreign interference and oppression, and safeguarding national independence.

The statement, signed by the party’s General Secretary Dharmendra Bastola (Kanchan), also called for the formation of an independent coalition government. It appealed for cooperation and support from all sectors, including industrialists, transport entrepreneurs, businesspersons, educational institutions, intellectuals, and the media, to make the bandh successful.

The party clarified that the bandh will be observed across the country on Falgun 20 and emphasized the need for public participation to make the program historic. According to the notice issued by the Communist Party of Nepal (Majority), the bandh will be conducted peacefully.
