Tharu–Rana Tharu cultural festival to be held in Haraiya from Magh 16 to 18

Dhangadhi: A Maghi Milan cultural program is set to be organized in Haraiya, Kailali, with the objective of preserving and promoting Tharu and Rana Tharu culture. The festival, organized by the Godavari Nagar Bhalmansa (Barghar) Committee, will be held from Magh 16 to 18, according to committee chairman Man Bahadur Chaudhary.

The program is being supported by Godavari Municipality, while the Haraiya Village Society has taken responsibility for its management. The festival aims to ensure the transmission of the customs, lifestyle and artistic traditions of the Tharu and Rana Tharu communities to the younger generation.

Local resident Bal Bahadur Chaudhary informed that the cultural program will feature various art performances by the Rana Tharu community, performances by national and local artists, and tableau presentations. The organizers stated that the event will be held at the Tharu Museum in Godavari Municipality-7.
