Kailali administration calls for surrender of licensed weapons ahead of house of representatives elections
Dhangadhi: The District Administration Office, Kailali, has urged the surrender of all licensed weapons and ammunition within the district in view of the upcoming House of Representatives elections.
According to a notice issued by the administration, all licensed weapons and ammunition must be deposited at the District Police Office or the nearest police unit by February 15, 2082. The directive has been issued to ensure that the House of Representatives elections scheduled for February 21, 2082 are conducted in a fair, peaceful and credible manner.
The administration has stated that weapons and ammunition surrendered to the police will be returned to their respective owners after the completion of the election process.
The District Administration Office has warned that legal action will be taken in accordance with prevailing laws if weapons are not surrendered within the stipulated time despite the notice. Emphasizing election security, the administration has requested all concerned stakeholders to strictly comply with the directive.
According to the District Administration Office, Kailali, the notice has been made public to maintain peace and security in the district and to prevent any untoward incidents during the election period.
