Godavari municipality declares local holiday on Magh 2
Attariya: Godavari Municipality in Kailali has decided to observe a local holiday on Magh 2. According to a notice issued by the municipality on Wednesday, the holiday has been declared to mark the Tharu community’s New Year and the Maghi festival.
The notice, issued by Chief Administrative Officer Dharmaraj Binadi, states that the decision was taken during the 136th executive meeting held on Magh 30. As per the decision, all offices and educational institutions under the municipality will remain closed on the day.
On the occasion of Magh 2, the provincial government has declared a public holiday across the province on Wednesday, while Thursday has been designated as a national holiday. Additionally, as Magh 3 falls on a Saturday, there will be four consecutive days of holiday, including the local holiday on Magh 2.
