Four-day school holiday announced in Bedkot and Bhimdatta, Kanchanpur

Kanchanpur: Bedkot Municipality and Bhimdatta Municipality in Kanchanpur have announced a four-day public holiday for schools.

Bedkot Municipality has declared a winter holiday for all community and institutional schools from Poush 16 to 19, considering the health risks posed to students by the increasing cold and adverse weather. Education Branch Chief Haridatta Bhatta stated that this holiday will be deducted from the remaining winter holiday allocated to schools.

Similarly, Bhimdatta Municipality has declared a holiday for all private and public schools until Poush 19 to accommodate the municipal-level 16th President's Running Shield selection and the second basic school-level sports competition. Education Branch Chief Haridatta Joshi urged students and the community to actively participate in and support the sporting events.

The announcement comes as cold weather intensifies in the Terai region, impacting children, the elderly, and underprivileged communities.
