Nepal Chamber Sudurpaschim launches campaign to make far-west an IT hub
Dhangadhi: Nepal Chamber of Commerce Sudurpaschim, in collaboration with Tekpaila Innovations, has launched the Sudurpaschim Information Technology Center campaign with the goal of developing Sudurpaschim as a major IT hub of Nepal.
The campaign seeks to drive digital transformation across the province through education, employment, and technology-based development. Recognizing the growing interest of youth in technology, international-level employment-oriented programs are being conducted in fields such as computer programming, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and cloud computing.
Tekpaila Innovations, in partnership with the DG Group, has collaborated with over 200 schools and colleges in Sudurpaschim. The latest IT curriculum, accredited by a renowned institution in the United Kingdom, is being implemented through these institutions.
The program also provides virtual employment opportunities based on cloud technology, enabling Nepali youth to access high-paying international technology-related jobs from home.
Binod Malla, President of Nepal Chamber of Commerce Sudurpaschim, stated, "This is not just an education program, it is a campaign for economic transformation. When our young generation can work from home after learning world-class technology skills, remittances to the country increase, IT employment expands, and youth can stay in the country."
The project aligns with the Digital Nepal campaign and aims to position Sudurpaschim as an employment-oriented, technology-friendly province. It also promotes sustainable economic development by encouraging local talent and technology-based entrepreneurship.
Through the 'Study and Earn' program, students will have the opportunity to earn money while studying, bridging the gap between education and employment.
The program was attended by outgoing President of Nepal Chamber of Commerce Rajendra Malla, President of Information Technology Vigyan Shrestha, and representatives from numerous schools and colleges. Participating institutions included Valmiki International School, Aishwarya Vidya Niketan, Kailali Model School, Kailali Multiple Campus, Sudurpaschim Academy, RNBS College, Durga Lakshmi Model School, Satyawati Academy, Janakalyan Secondary School, Farwest Medical School, New Saraswati Vidya Mandir, Holy Family, and Adarsh Vidya Niketan in Attariya.
The campaign envisions establishing Sudurpaschim as a leading province in Digital Nepal in the long term.
