Customs evasion goods worth Rs 759,000 seized in Kailali and Kanchanpur

Dhangadhi: Goods worth Rs 759,740 smuggled from India have been seized from Kailali and Kanchanpur districts.

According to the police, goods worth Rs 98,150 illegally imported from India were seized from Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City-2 Sisa Post and Bhajani Municipality-5 Karuwaghat in Kailali. A police patrol team deployed from the District Police Office, Kailali, and its subordinate offices confiscated tobacco, bidi, matchsticks, saris, and shoe pieces that were brought into Nepal without customs clearance.

Similarly, goods worth Rs 661,590 illegally imported from India were seized from the Bus Park area of Bhimdatta Municipality-4 and Bhurakot, Belauri Municipality-6, in Kanchanpur. The police patrol team deployed from the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, and its subordinate offices found two motorcycles, along with coats, T-shirts, and various household items, and took them under control.
