Rain likely across the country today due to monsoon influence
Kathmandu: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast rainfall across the country today due to the influence of moisture-laden monsoon air originating from the Bay of Bengal.
According to the Weather Forecasting Division, most areas of Koshi and Madhes Provinces will experience complete cloud cover, while Bagmati and Lumbini Provinces will see generally cloudy conditions. The remaining regions are expected to remain partially cloudy.
The weather bulletin issued by the division indicates the possibility of moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in many places of Koshi and Madhes Provinces, as well as in some hilly and Terai areas of the remaining provinces. One or two places in Koshi and Madhes Provinces may experience heavy rainfall.
Similarly, the division stated that today’s weather will remain generally cloudy in Koshi, Madhes, and Bagmati Provinces and the hilly regions of the country, while other areas will have partial cloud cover. Moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely in some hilly regions, including Koshi, Madhes, and Bagmati Provinces, and at a few places elsewhere. Heavy rainfall is also possible at one or two locations in the hilly areas of Koshi Province.
