Construction of two concrete bridges nears completion on Dhangadhi-Khutiya road section
Dhangadhi: The construction of two concrete bridges on the Dhangadhi-Syaule road section, part of the Dhangadhi-Khutiya-Bpinagar-Dipayal expressway, has reached its final stage.
According to Dinesh Raikhola, engineer at the Dhangadhi-Syaule Road Planning Office, the bridges on Jonapur Khola in Godavari Municipality-8 and Sukuti Khola in Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City-5 are nearly complete.
Engineer Raikhola stated that a contract agreement was signed with Prithvi and Pashupati JV Construction Company in Poush of the previous fiscal year at a cost of Rs 31.5 million, with a target to complete construction by mid-Asad. The construction company has been prioritizing the work, and 80 percent of the bridge construction has been completed, with only blacktop and riverbank embankment work remaining.
Earlier, 13 kilometers and 400 meters of blacktop work from Dhangadhi-Syaule-Hatkholi were completed in the previous fiscal year 2080/81 Ashar, and the blacktop work of seven kilometers from Syaule to Hatkholi is currently underway.
The Dhangadhi-Khutia-Dipayal Expressway was formally surveyed in BS 2064, covering 82 kilometers from Khutia to Dipayal, with an additional 10 kilometers from Syaule-Dhangadhi to the East-West Highway, bringing the total to 92 kilometers.
Raikhola noted that construction progress has been slowed due to insufficient government budget allocation for the Dhangadhi-Khutiya-Dipayal-Chainpur-Uraibhanjyang Fast Track road. Once completed, the road will connect to Dipayal via Bpinagar-KI Singh Rural Municipality in Dhangadhi-Khutiya-Doti, with track opening completed and upgrade work ongoing.
