12,000 chickens die in Kailali poultry farm due to power outage
Dhangadhi: Approximately 12,000 chickens have died overnight in a poultry farm in Haraiya, Lamkichuha Municipality-7, Kailali, due to a problem with the power supply.
The poultry farm, operated by Durga Bohara, reportedly suffered a loss of Rs 10 million following the death of the egg-laying chickens.
After receiving the complaint, Sudurpaschim Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah and Minister for Land, Management, Agriculture, and Cooperatives Bir Bahadur Thapa visited the farm for inspection.
During the visit, Chief Minister Shah directed Kailali Chief District Officer Krishna Prasad Lamsal and the head of the Nepal Electricity Authority Tikapur branch to coordinate and ensure a stable power supply to prevent such incidents in the future.
