Sadhu stoned to death in Godavari, Kailali

Dhangadhi: A sadhu was brutally murdered in Chunepani, Godavari Municipality-4, Kailali, after being stoned to death on Wednesday afternoon.

The victim has been identified as 78-year-old Bhagat Ram Narayan Dagaura, a permanent resident of Krishnapur Municipality, Kanchanpur. According to police, the incident occurred around 12:30 pm, with preliminary investigations indicating that he was killed after being struck on the head with a stone.

A formal complaint has been lodged with police by representatives of the Laxminarayan Temple, on whose premises Dagaura had been residing for the past 16 years. He had been living in a small hut within the temple’s garden during that time.

Malakheti Police have confirmed that a suspect has been taken into custody in connection with the case.
