Fifty candidates contest Kailali chamber of commerce and industry elections
Dhangadhi: A total of 50 candidates have filed their nominations for 22 positions, including nine office bearer posts and 13 member seats, in the Kailali Chamber of Commerce and Industry elections scheduled for Bhadra 28.
According to the election committee, 21 candidates are contesting for office bearer positions while 29 are vying for member seats.
Pushkar Raj Ojha and Rupesh Swar have submitted their candidacies along with their respective panels for the chamber’s new leadership. Swar is the former general secretary, while Ojha currently serves as senior vice president.
From Ojha’s panel, Om Bikram Bista has filed for senior vice president, Vasudev Bhatta for industry vice president, Manoj Agrawal for associate vice president, Gagan Raj KC for commerce vice president, Bhim Raj Ojha for material vice president, Dinesh Lamsal for general secretary, Surendra Bahadur Kadayat for treasurer, and Krishna Kumar Bista for secretary. Additionally, 13 candidates are contesting for member positions from Ojha’s panel.
From Swar’s panel, Keshav Raj Joshi has filed for senior vice president, Laxman Raj Pant for industry vice president, Anil Kumar Bhojaniya for associate vice president, Radhika Chaudhary for commerce vice president, Siddha Raj Paneru for commodity vice president, Suresh Pandey for general secretary, Tilak Bahadur Bohara for treasurer, and Prakash Kumar Chand for secretary. Thirteen candidates are also contesting member posts from Swar’s panel.
Six individuals, including three current office bearers, have filed as independent candidates. Surendra Rathi is contesting for senior vice president, Kavindra Pant for associate vice president, and Kopila Kunwar for secretary.
