Dadeldhura clinches sudurpaschim U-19 women’s cricket title
Baitadi: Dadeldhura has emerged victorious in the Sudurpaschim state-level U-19 women's cricket tournament, defeating Kanchanpur by 5 runs in a thrilling final.
The final match, held at the Fapla Cricket Ground in Kailali, saw Dadeldhura win the toss and opt to bat first. They were all out for 88 runs in 16.5 overs. Chasing a target of 99 runs, Kanchanpur managed only 83 runs for the loss of nine wickets.
With the title win, Dadeldhura secured a cash prize of Rs. 200,000, while runners-up Kanchanpur received Rs. 100,000.
Hira Saud was the standout performer for Dadeldhura with an unbeaten 24 runs. Despite most batters failing to reach double figures, 20 extra runs conceded by Kanchanpur proved costly. In Kanchanpur’s bowling attack, Poonam Joshi and Savitri Dhami took 3 wickets each, Archana Chand claimed 2, and Ganga Khadka took 1.
For Kanchanpur, Archana Chand and Deepa Badu contributed 24 and 13 runs respectively. In response, Dadeldhura's bowlers delivered a disciplined performance, with Manisha Khatri and Hira Saud taking 2 wickets each, while Ashika Mahara, Sanju Saud, and Nisha Khathayat picked up one wicket apiece.
Lok Bahadur Khadka, Member Secretary of the Sudurpaschim Province Sports Council, along with other officials, distributed the prizes. The tournament, which began on Ashad 12, featured teams from all eight districts of Sudurpaschim Province and was organized by the Province Sports Council.
