Homestays can boost economic activity in Far West: Province Chief Miya
Dhangadhi: Far West Province Chief Nazir Miya has stated that the economic growth of the province can be significantly enhanced through the promotion and expansion of homestays.
Speaking at the inauguration of the provincial-level homestay fair held in Bhada, Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City-16 of Kailali district, Province Chief Miya emphasized the growing popularity of homestays and their potential to stimulate local economies. He highlighted the need for well-established homestays in every district of the Far West Province to attract more tourists.
“The Far West is a beautiful region with immense potential for tourism development,” he said. “Building quality homestays can draw in visitors and thereby increase economic activity across the province.”
While acknowledging that eastern Nepal has had a head start in homestay development, Miya noted that the Far West has made significant strides in recent years. He stressed the importance of continuing this momentum to unlock the region’s tourism potential.
Other dignitaries present at the event, including Deputy Speaker Koili Devi Chaudhary, provincial assembly members Tulsi Devkota, Raksha Mahara, Laxmi BK, and Chief of the Provincial Tourism Development Program Implementation Unit Double Bahadur Bohara, echoed the sentiment that homestays represent a growing opportunity for the Far West.
The opening ceremony was chaired by Laxminarayan Chaudhary, Chairman of the Tharu Homestay Village Bhada Tourism Development and Management Committee and Sudurpaschim Province In-charge. The program was inaugurated by Chetram Chaudhary and Dinesh Dahit, Chairman of the Homestay Federation Nepal Sudurpaschim Province Working Committee.
The homestay fair, organized by the Tharu Homestay Village Bhada Tourism Development and Management Committee in coordination with the Homestay Federation Nepal Sudurpaschim Province Working Committee, Dhangadhi and Kailali, will run until Baisakh 21.
