Police deploy canine unit to investigate suspicious death of couple in Kanchanpur
Dhangadhi: A canine unit has been deployed by police to aid in the investigation of a couple found dead under suspicious circumstances in Kanchanpur.
A specialized team with a trained dog was dispatched from the Sudurpaschim Provincial Police Office, Dhangadhi, to examine the incident in detail. DSP Hem Bahadur Shahi confirmed that DSP Umeshraj Joshi of District Police Office Kanchanpur, along with the canine unit, was sent to the scene to further analyze the evidence.
The deceased, Rameshwar Badayak (46) and his wife Kamala Badayak (43) of Laljhadi Rural Municipality-1, Binbari, were found dead on Friday morning; Rameshwar was in the courtyard, and Kamala was in bed inside their home. Police suspect that sharp weapons were used, likely on Thursday night, leading to their deaths.
The couple's elder son resides abroad in India, while the younger son lives in Nepal. The incident has sparked fear among locals. According to DSP Shahi, the canine-assisted investigation is ongoing to determine if the case is one of murder or suicide.
