Kidnapping incident in Kailali: Co-driver abducted in Chisapani

Dhangadhi: A person has been kidnapped from the Chisapani area in Kailali. Lokendra Chaudhary, the co-driver of a vehicle transporting firewood, was abducted from the Mohanyal Rural Municipality-7 Pitmari area.

The family of the victim alleges that local youths from the Lamki-Chisapani area were responsible for the kidnapping. On Monday night, Anuraj Chaudhary, the 25-year-old driver of the vehicle with registration number 1 F 3714, was attacked and injured in the Pitmari river.

Lokendra Chaudhary, the co-driver from Lamkichuha Municipality-9, was subsequently abducted by a group of four to five youths. Anuraj sustained a head injury during the assault. The Chaudhary family has specifically accused 24-year-old Bhavesh Sapkota and 28-year-old Narayan Shahi, along with other youths from Lamkichuha Municipality-3 Chisapani, of being involved in the incident.

Narayan Shahi has been apprehended by the police, while Lokendra Chaudhary's whereabouts remain unknown. Spokesperson Gangadat Badu of the District Police Office, Kailali, has stated that an investigation is ongoing.

Teams from the Chipasani police and the Armed Base Camp Dudejhari are actively searching for the missing co-driver.
