Chand's journey to sporting success began with junior national football at the school level until 2057, where he excelled. However, in 2058, he transitioned to wrestling and swiftly clinched the first silver medal for the Far West in the National Wrestling Tournament, marking a remarkable shift in his athletic career. Inspired by local mentor Narendra Khatri and under the guidance of coach Shyamsingh Thapa Guru, Chand's meteoric rise in wrestling was swift and decisive.

Even after assuming the role of a contract coach in 2065, Chand's dedication to wrestling remained unwavering.
