Man Arrested in Kanchanpur on Extortion Charges

Kanchanpur: Amid allegations of raping a 30-year-old woman, a man has been arrested in Kanchanpur on charges of extortion.

Harichandra Rana, aged 40 and a resident of Belauri Municipality-7 Tedia in the district, was apprehended by the police on Saturday afternoon for alleged involvement in extortion. The arrest follows a complaint lodged by the victim, accusing Rana of forcing her into labor on February 6th in a sugarcane field situated in Belauri Municipality-7 Paulah.

After the victim filed a complaint with the police, a team from the local area police office in Belauri took action and arrested the accused, Rana. The police have stated that they are conducting a thorough investigation into the incident.
