Former Prime Minister and Esteemed Author Lokendra Bahadur Chand to Receive Felicitation in Dhangadhi
Dhangadhi: The upcoming felicitation of former Prime Minister and distinguished literary figure Lokendra Bahadur Chand is set to take place in Dhangadhi.
Renowned veteran politician and recipient of the prestigious Madan award, Chand, is scheduled to be honored on the 3rd of February in Dhangadhi. The Civil Appreciation Main Ceremony Committee has announced that the public felicitation will occur during a press conference in Dhangadhi on Thursday.
In commemoration of the 84th Basant Pujan of former Prime Minister Chand, citizens will be part of the felicitation ceremony in Dhangadhi. Mayaprakash Bhatt, the coordinator of the Civil Appreciation Main Ceremony Committee, expressed that Chand intends to express his gratitude to the public for their unwavering support and acknowledge their significant contributions across various domains of Nepali language literature and national service.
Hailing from Kurkutya in Surnaya rural municipality of Baitadi district in the Far West region, Chand's remarkable legacy includes serving as the Prime Minister of Nepal on four occasions and authoring over a dozen books in literature. Organizers emphasized their intention to honor Chand's notable contributions to Nepali literature and politics, as well as to illuminate key aspects of his life and work, fostering a culture of reverence for esteemed writers.
The event will feature the release of a 320-page citizen's appreciation book on the day of the felicitation, followed by the publication of a souvenir in recognition of the occasion, as mentioned by Bhatt, the coordinator of the main ceremony committee. A grand chariot procession from Parkmode to Saunrai Square Party Palace, Chattakpur, along with various tableaus and book launches, has been arranged as part of the felicitation program. Organizers extend a warm invitation to all to participate in the forthcoming felicitation ceremony.
