Feasibility Study Commences for Technical Campus in Krishnapur, Kanchanpur

Dhangadhi: A comprehensive feasibility study has been initiated for the establishment of a technical campus in the municipality of Krishnapur, located in Kanchanpur. On Sunday, a dedicated team comprising representatives from Koika Nepal, an expert team, and CityVT Nepal, supported by the Korean government, conducted on-site monitoring at two strategic locations within Krishnapur municipality, specifically in Ward No. 7 and Ward No. 5.

Following the meticulous on-site assessment, the team has submitted a preliminary report to the Korean government, affirming Krishnapur municipality as an ideal location for a technical college. Vikas Rawal, Country Director of Koika Nepal, disclosed that a subsequent visit to Krishnapur for an in-depth study is on the agenda. The primary focus of this initiative is to cater to students from Karnali Province and Sudurpaschim Province.

The Koika Nepal team, led by Country Director Vikas Rawal, includes skilled engineers and professors. The decision to implement this project in Krishnapur stems from the identified gap in the availability of technical campuses in the Far Western Province. Mayor Hemraj Ojha expressed aspirations for the technical campus to evolve into a model college for the entire nation. Ojha also indicated ongoing discussions with local residents regarding the municipality's commitment to provide the necessary land for the project, with enthusiastic support from the community.

The on-site monitoring team from CityTV Nepal, featuring Director Anuj Bhattarai, Deputy Director Sushil Shrestha, and CityTV Far West Head Kalp Basnet, actively participated in the assessment. Key municipal figures, including Mayor Hemraj Ojha, Deputy Chief Dropati Rana, ward presidents, engineers, and Foreign Minister NP Saund Ram Prasad Bhatt's secretariat member, also contributed to the on-site monitoring process.

Funded entirely by the Korean government, the project is set to receive an investment of approximately 1.3 arbas. Bikas Rawal, the Country Director of Koika Nepal, highlighted that upon completion, the technical campus will be handed over to City VT, a government-owned entity. Similar projects are concurrently underway in Bardibas, Mahottari, and Butwal, Rupandehi, reflecting a broader national commitment to advancing technical education infrastructure.
