Illegal Gold Trading Operation in Kailali Unraveled; Padam Pandey Arrested in Kathmandu Raid
Kathmandu: Nepal Police, through the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, has apprehended Padam Pandey, a resident of Kailali Ghar currently residing in Nagarjuna, Kathmandu, for his involvement in illegal gold trading.
The arrest took place during a raid on the premises of Ompal Gold Shop Pvt Ltd in New Road, where Pandey was reportedly engaged in unauthorized gold business. Superintendent of Police Rabindra Regmi, who also serves as the police spokesperson, confirmed Pandey's arrest and disclosed that the confiscated gold is currently under secure custody.
While the exact quantity of the recovered gold was not disclosed by the police, Regmi revealed that the seized items included biscuit-shaped gold and some already fashioned into jewelry. The investigation is ongoing, shedding light on the illicit gold trading activities Pandey was allegedly involved in.
