Preparation for the construction of 156 km transmission line in Far West

Dhangadhi: Study for construction of high voltage capacity transmission line in Seti Corridor has reached its final stage. This work progressed with the decision to appoint an officer to take initial action to acquire land for the Seti Corridor 400 KV transmission line project.
At present, Attariya-Balanch 132 kV transmission line is in operation on the longest route in Sudurpaschim Province. which is connecting the electricity produced by the Chameliya hydropower project to the national system. The Seti Corridor (West Seti-Dodhara) transmission line will be about 156 km. It reaches Dodhara from Chaitanpur through Doti's forest lake.

Netra Gyawali, Chief Executive Officer of National Transmission Grid Company, said that after the construction of the transmission line, the electricity generated from the Seti River and its tributaries will be brought to the central transmission system and help India export. Two substations will be constructed along with the transmission line. There will be one substation at Chainpur and another at Banlake.

Five hundred megawatts of electricity is collected at the substation in Chainpur. It conveys the electrical energy to the One Lake substation. West Seti of 750 MW and another project of 250 MW is also going to be constructed in One Lake. The electricity of that project will also be brought to Dodhara. According to the design, this transmission line has the capacity to carry about 1,200 megawatts from Chainpur to Banlake.
It can carry 2,200 megawatts from Onelake to Dodhara. Now the design and drawing work of this transmission line is in the final stage. NEA Engineering Company Limited, a subsidiary of Nepal Electricity Authority, has been designing and studying for a year. Gyawali said that the study will be completed within this year.
The company has been given time till June to submit the final report and the preparation of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report is also underway. The company has requested source assurance from the Ministry of Finance. The finance ministry has sought a loan from India's Exim Bank for the project.
Since the Indian company is going to build the project, the loan is sought from him. It is estimated to cost 14 arba rupees for the construction of this transmission line. 3 billion rupees will be required for the substation. It is estimated that it will cost 18 arba rupees including land acquisition.
14,000 ropani land is required for the construction of the substation of this project. 10,000 plantations are forested. 130 ropani in One Lake and 280 ropani in Chainpur have been taken on lease. Since the government land cannot be taken in the name of the company, it has been taken on lease. Apart from that land should be acquired. This project will be built in two sections. From Chainpur to One Lake, it will be twin, while from One Lake to Dodhara, it will be based on quad technology. Which can carry two thousand two hundred megawatts of electricity.
