Darchula: The Nepal-India border bridge over the Mahakali River at Darchula has been opened. Police said that the closed bridge was opened after two hours.
According to Inspector Rajesh Shahi, Spokesperson of District Police Office, Darchula, the Indian side had closed the border bridge since Monday morning due to the issue of double stone pelting that happened on Sunday. According to Shahi, Indian businessmen and citizens closed the border bridge together.
Nepali citizens protested on Sunday and closed the bridge saying that India is building an embankment on the Mahakali river in a one-way manner.
