Deuba and Oli to be seen campaigning in helicopters
Dhangadhi: Prime Minister and Nepali Congress Chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli have been permitted to use helicopters.
From today onwards candidates for the forthcoming election for members of the House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly can begin their campaigns. The Election Commission has said that the candidates who have been campaigning only from door to door will be allowed to hold public meetings, processions, and corner meetings from today till November 17. They also get to campaign through the media.
The Prime Minister and the Chairman of the Nepali Congress are in Dhangadhi for election campaigning. Deuba is going to visit his district Dadeldhura today. With the permission of the Election Commission, he is going to Dadeldhura by helicopter.
CPN-UML President KP Sharma Oli has also taken permission to use helicopters from the Commission. He is also coming to Dhangadhi today. Oli also got permission to use a helicopter for the campaign. He will go to Darchula tomorrow (Friday). The election code of conduct stipulates that only the chief campaigner can use the helicopter. It is said that the use of helicopters should also be within the limits of the expenditure set by the commission.
If the Prime Minister and Minister have to go to campaign in another region other than their region, they have to get permission from the commission. If the minister is the candidate, he can campaign without using government resources. People's representatives at the local level cannot participate in election campaigns.
