Now illegally imported mobile sets will not work

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Telecommunication Authority has implemented a system to prevent illegal mobile sets from operating without registration. After a long effort, the authority has implemented the device management system MDMS.

According to the authority, this system has been implemented with the aim of stopping the importation of stolen and illegally imported mobile sets. From now on, all mobile phones entering Nepal will have to be registered. Those mobile sets will not work without registration. The mobile sets that came into use before this system will work automatically.
