Darchula: 5 people found died, 10 remain missing in the flash floods

Dhangadhi: Due to incessant rains and landslides since Friday night, Mahakali Municipality and Naugada Rural Municipality of Darchula have suffered a huge loss of life. According to the District Police Office, Darchula, 5 people have died and 10 people are missing in the flash floods.

The district police office has said that there is a problem in the search for the missing persons as the water flow in the Mahakali river has not decreased. 42 houses in Mahakali Municipality and Naugad Rural Municipality have been completely damaged and 9 partially damaged due to flood.

According to the police, 40 houses are at risk. Similarly, a school, an electric powerhouse, two suspension bridges, a motorized bridge, 6 jeeps parked there, 1/1 car, and a tractor, JCB were also swept away by the flood.
