Shahi murder case in Achham: Allegation that the mayor is involved in the murder
Dhangadhi: Alleged involvement in the murder of Binod Shahi of Panchdewal Binayak of Achham, five political parties and Struggle comittee are going to boycott the public program of Panchdewal Binayak municipality. They have announced that they will boycott the program in which Mayor Ambika will participate.
City in-charge of UML Bhim Bahadur Bista, Deputy Secretary of Maoist Center Hari Prasad Timilsina, Co-in-charge of United Socialists Keshav Shahi, In-charge of Biplava-led CPN Surjan Dhami, City President of RPP Nepal Ran Bahadur Shahi and Mr. Ramesh Shahi, coordinator of Vinod Shahi Sangharsh Samiti issued a joint statement and said that they will boycott the public programs in which the Mayor will participate.
They have warned that the municipal office will be locked indefinitely if the agreement with the victim is not fully implemented within three days. Reminding that the previous agitations for the payment of June/July (Asar) plans and the passage of the budget by the Municipal Council were withdrawn, they said that the policies and programs of the local level budget have not been passed yet.
They allege that the mayor ran away for about a month and appeared before the police after colluding with the power center of the state. Stating that the council meeting has been called on 15th of August, they said, "A single step has not been taken yet to hold the council meeting." The municipal assembly is about to meet the needs of the people's representatives.
