Dhangadhi: The Communist Party of Nepal led by Netravikram Chand (Biplav) has announced a day shut down in Nepal with the support of three other parties for Tuesday. Since Tuesday morning, the presence of security personnel is thick on the roads and squares of the Far-West province.

According to Provincial Traffic Office Attaria, bus ticket counters across the province are closed. Police said that long and short-distance vehicle services have been suspended. However, in Kailali and Kanchanpur, autorickshaws and motorbikes are operating.

Meanwhile, suspicious objects have been found in two places in Kailali. According to the police, a suspicious object was found near the Haraiya Camp on the Mohanapul-Attaria 6-lane road section and East-West Highway in Godawari Municipality-1 Attaria.

Deputy Superintendent of Police DSP Ved Prakash Joshi, spokesperson of District Police Office Kailali, said that a suspicious object was found wrapped in a cloth in Attaria and in Haraiya, which looked like a pressure cooker bomb.

According to the police, a team of the Nepali Army was called to neutralize the suspicious item.

According to the 3-point agreement with the government, the Biplava-led CPN has announced a nationwide shutdown for Tuesday, moving forward with the demand to withdraw the cases against the leaders/activists of their party and release them from prison. Similarly, the other 3 parties have supported the closure by demanding that the MCC agreement with the US should be canceled and inflation should be controlled.

The shutdown imposed by Biplav's party was supported by Rishi Kattel-led Nepal Communist Party, Socialist Communist Party, and CPN-Maoist Samajwadi Party.
