2,808 new voters added to Baitadi

Baitadi: Two thousand eight hundred and eight new voters have been added in Baitadi. Those voters have been added to the voter list with photos which started on the 15th of June last year. The work of collecting the list was started at three places namely District Administration Office, District Election Office, and Area Administration Office in Hat.

According to the District Election Office computer operator Tarkaraj Joshi, 1,829 new voters have been added in the District Administration Office, 290 District Election Office, and 689 new voters in District Administration Office Hat. Apart from this, eight outside voters have also registered their names.

Along with this, the number of voters in the district has reached 151 thousand 414. There were 148 thousand six hundred six voters in Baitadi in the local elections held last May. Citizens who have attained the age of 16 and have obtained a certificate of Nepali citizenship can register their name in the voter's list with a photograph.

Head of the District Election Office, Madhav Phuyal, informed that the registration of the name in the voter's list with a photo will take place at the age of 16 after obtaining citizenship. The district election officials said that with the announcement of the date of the provincial and representative assembly elections on November 20th, the work of collecting the voter list has been postponed.
