Malnourished children of Bajura taken in by the Nutrition Rehabilitation Centre

Bajura: Malnutrition has been observed in 386 children of Bajura district. The Nutrition Rehabilitation Center had checked the malnutrition of vulnerable children in all the nine local levels of the district.

According to Nirmala Vick, head of Nutrition Rehabilitation Home Bajura, 1,414 children from all nine local levels of the district were examined for malnutrition and 386 children were found to be malnourished.

Out of 386 malnourished children, 272 have moderate and 114 children have severe malnutrition. It is reported that more children are malnourished in Bajura's Badimalika and Swamikartik rural municipalities than in other municipalities. Chief Vick informed that now malnourished children are sent home only after their malnourishment is normalized after arranging various nutritional diets.

According to District Hospital Bajura, various nutritional programs have been conducted due to malnutrition in children. Dr Ashish Bista of District Hospital Bajura said that malnourished children seen in Bajura are being cared for by keeping them in nutritional rehabilitation homes along with their mothers.
