Gold traders from Dhangadhi arrested from the plane when it was about to fly to Mumbai
Dhangadhi: The president of Nepal Gold and Silver Traders Federation, Sudurpaschim and his wife have been arrested by the police. They were arrested from a Nepal Airlines flight from Kathmandu to Mumbai.
According to the police, Santosh Lamichhane, Chairman of Nepal Gold and Silver Traders Federation, Sudurpaschim, and his wife Meena Lamichhane have been arrested. On Wednesday afternoon, the police stopped a Nepal Airlines plane that was about to fly to Mumbai, India, after receiving information that a suspicious person was on board. The police have informed that they have been arrested for investigation after suspecting their business. According to police sources, a complaint has been filed against Lamichhane of Dhangadhi. A complaint was lodged against him at the District Police Office Kailali for the crime of fraud.
They were going to visit Mumbai with a team of goldsmiths. At that time Kailali police informed the head office that they were going to Mumbai. They were arrested by the Special Bureau of Police when the ship was about to take off. The police were investigating on the suspicion that they were stealing gold from India and selling it. A team of the Central Investigation Bureau of Police was deployed in Kailali itself to arrest them.
