Dhami-Jhankri conference at Dhangadhi
Dhangadhi: The three-day Dhami-Jhankri conference in Dhangadhi concluded on Saturday. The Dhami-Jhankri conference for decent menstruation was concluded by issuing a 14-point manifesto.
In the manifesto, it is mentioned that in order to make decent menstruation friendly in the household, girls and women should be treated equally on the five days of menstruation and on the other 25 days. In order to increase the confidence of the people who come to visit Dhami-Jhankri, it is mentioned in the manifesto that the girls should be encouraged to go to school even during menstruation, to inform them about proper menstruation, to provide positive support for nutrition, housing, hygiene, health, education, and participation during menstruation.
Dhami-Jhankri, who participated in the conference, stated that since menstrual blood is sacred and the basis of creation, everyone's responsibility is important to dignify it, and pledged to take initiatives to show due respect without touching menstruating girls and women.
State Minister of Finance of Sudurpaschim Province, Amar Bahadur Saud expressed his commitment to the full support of the provincial government to implement the manifesto issued through the Conference for Modest Menstruation. The conference was attended by Dhami Jhankri and people's representatives from Bajura, Doti, Kailali, Acham and Mugu districts of Karnali province.
