242 rape cases in 1 year in Far West, highest in Kailali

Dhangadhi: There have been 242 cases of rape in the financial year 2078/079 in the Far Western Province. Sudurpaschim Province Police Office Dhangadhi has informed that the said number of rape complaints have been registered within a year.

Looking at the records of the last three years of the province, it is found that rape cases are increasing every year. In the financial year 077/078, there were 230 complaints. Similarly, in the financial year 076/077, there are statistics that 198 women and girls were raped. According to the police, Kailali has the highest number of cases of rape. 119 complaints have been registered in this district. Similarly, in the financial year 078/079, 85 incidents have been registered in the forced labor industry.
