Dhangadhi: The work of compiling the voter list has resumed as soon as all the procedures of the local level election have been completed. As per the decision of the Election Commission, the work of compiling the voter list has started from June 15.
The Election Commission has stated that the names can be registered by going to the Area Administration Office, District Administration Office and Election Office and the voter list can be moved. The process of registration of new voters will continue till the date of state and federal elections is announced, said Prem Raj Bhatta, Acting Chief of State Election Office, Dhangadhi.
"All the processes of local level elections have ended on June 13. The work of compiling the voter list will continue till the date of the next election is announced." he said. According to the Election Office, the voter list will be compiled until the date of the state and federal elections is announced.
During this period, voters will be able to move the voter list from one district to another, from one municipality to another municipality and from one ward to another on the basis of immigration certificate. Similarly, voters in the same ward can apply for relocation of polling booths at their respective polling stations, said Bhatta.
"Anyone over the age of 18 can go to the area administration office, district administration office and election office to take a photo to register in the voter list. They have brought immigration certificates to move the voter list from one place to another." he said.
The Election Office has stated that the work of distributing the voter identity cards prepared earlier will also be done. Chief Bhatta said that the prepared ballot papers will be distributed to the voters through the ward office. "During the local elections, we sent identity cards to the polling stations, but not everyone did. We will send the remaining identity cards to the concerned ward office for distribution through the ward office." he said.
