Preparations to hold elections in the first week of July in Budhiganga of Bajura
Bajura: The Election Commission (EC) has directed the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) to hold early re-election in Budhiganga Municipality of Bajura. Accordingly, a few days ago, an agreement was reached between the political parties to hold the election within the second half of June. However, the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer has not announced the date.
Chief District Officer of Bajura, Prakash Chandra Adhikari, said that all preparations have been made for security. "The parties have also agreed to hold elections within the second half of June. The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer is now preparing to announce the date within the first half of June." he said.
The Election Commission (EC) had decided to hold re-election in Bajura's Budhiganga Municipality on May 13 citing poor security during the election. A clash had erupted between CPN-UML and Nepali Congress cadres over the issue of voting.
