Accham murder case: Five arrested

Dhangadhi: Five persons have been arrested in connection with the death of Binod Shahi of Panchadewal Binayak Municipality-4 in Achham.

On Tuesday evening, the CIB arrested five people for questioning, police said. "The CIB arrested five people last evening for questioning. The incident is being investigated by the CIB," Spokesperson of the District Police Office, Achham, Inspector of Police Kailash Singh Bista said.

Locals had found the body of Shahi, who went missing after a clash between Nepali Congress and CPN-UML cadres at Panchadewal on Saturday evening. His body was found in a ravine of Kuchi in Ward No. 4 of Panchadewal Binayak Municipality on the Mid-Hills Highway.

Relatives of the deceased have alleged that the murder was planned by the Nepali Congress. During the election, Shahi was active in the UML's campaign. Relatives have alleged that he was killed for the same reason. The teenager's body has not yet been picked up by his relatives.
