Workshop on Comprehensive Sexuality Education Development held in Kanchanpur

Kanchanpur: A one-day workshop on Comprehensive Sexuality Education Development has been held in Mahendranagar, Kanchanpur. A workshop has been organized on Monday with the objective of educating the youth about sexuality education and sexual and reproductive health.

The workshop was attended by youths from 15 to 30 years of age, persons with disabilities and representatives of organizations related to the rights of sexual and gender minorities from different districts of the Far Western Province. Nilhira Samaj and Right Here Right Now (SRHR) Youth and BBC organization organized a program in Mahendranagar with extensive discussions and collection of suggestions.

Manisha Dhakal, Executive Director of Nilhira Samaj, said that more such workshops and programs should be organized in the coming days by collecting solutions, challenges and suggestions to solve the problems faced by the Sexual and Gender Minority Community (LGBTQ) and young women with disabilities.

She said, "The media has also played a big role in raising public awareness for the recognition of the rights of sexual and gender minorities. May the same support from all organizations continue in the days to come." This is the first time such a program has been organized in Kanchanpur targeting the youth of 15-30 years.
