"After my victory in the mayoral race, I will not take a single rupee from Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city," said Hamal. "I will not use the services provided to the mayor by the government. I will work selflessly, and ensure there is no corruption." He announced that he would stop the current trend of corruption after becoming the mayor.

Hamal, who had given independent candidature in the last election as well, said that he is giving his candidature for the last time. "Now, respecting this land, I have made a plan to serve Dhangadhi selflessly for five years." Infrastructure expert Dr. Surya Raj Acharya said that he is participating in Hamal's campaign keeping in mind his national responsibility. He said that he will plan the city free of cost to fulfill Hamal's dream of establishing the 'Dhangadhi Model if he is elected'.

"I am confident that the people of Dhangadhi will make Gopal Hamal's campaign a success," he said. Hamal had successfully made the Kailali Chamber of Commerce and Industry the best branch of the country during his tenure (2063-66 BS).
