Gopal Hamal announces his independent candidacy for the mayor's position of Dhangadhi
Dhangadhi: Initiatior of Sundar Sudurpaschim and business Gopal Hamal has announced his candidacy for the post of mayor of Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan. Hamal declared his candidacy at an announcement meeting held in Dhangadhi on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, Hamal said that he has again declared his independent candidacy for the mayor's post to establish 'Dhangadhi as a model'. "After my victory in the mayoral race, I will not take a single rupee from Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city," said Hamal. "I will not use the services provided to the mayor by the government. I will work selflessly, and ensure there is no corruption." He announced that he would stop the current trend of corruption after becoming the mayor.
Hamal, who had given independent candidature in the last election as well, said that he is giving his candidature for the last time. "Now, respecting this land, I have made a plan to serve Dhangadhi selflessly for five years." Infrastructure expert Dr. Surya Raj Acharya said that he is participating in Hamal's campaign keeping in mind his national responsibility. He said that he will plan the city free of cost to fulfill Hamal's dream of establishing the 'Dhangadhi Model if he is elected'.
"I am confident that the people of Dhangadhi will make Gopal Hamal's campaign a success," he said. Hamal had successfully made the Kailali Chamber of Commerce and Industry the best branch of the country during his tenure (2063-66 BS). More than 600 people have found employment in his business venture run in the Far-West under the name of Dinesh Group. He launched the Beautiful Far-West Campaign to introduce the Far-West as an area of potential.
Entrepreneur Prakash Bhatta delivered a welcome speech while former president of Far-Western Society Korea and businessman Dharmaraj Joshi delivered a congratulatory speech. Similarly, Siddharaj Paneru, Pamraj Bhatt 'Prabhas' in Ward No. 5, Yam Lamichhane in Ward No. 14 and Kamal Bahadur Dhat in Ward No. 15 have also declared their independent candidacies.
