Infrastructure expert Acharya to attend the press conference announcing the candidature of Gopal Hamal

As the local level elections are approaching candidates have intensified their preparation. Gopal Hamal a former member of the Bibeksheel Sajha Party recently handed over his resignation to Bibeksheel Sajha Party to be an independent candidate.

According to the information provided by Hamal's publicity committee a former member of Bibeksheel Sajha Party Surya Raj Acharya who is also considered a public intellectual as an independent expert in development and policy is to attend the press conference announcing Hamal's candidature for the post of mayor of Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan.

According to the information given by the publicity committee, a declaration meeting will be held at Hotel Rubas in Dhangadhi on March 3 at 8:30 am. Sub-metropolitan residents have also been invited to the declaration meeting.

Hamal had also given independent candidature for the post of mayor of Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan in the previous election. Incumbent Mayor Nripa Bahadur Odd was elected with 14,324 votes while his nearest rival Hamal got 11,527 votes. In the last election, the candidates of CPN-Maoist Center and CPN-UML were limited to the third and fourth positions respectively.
