Ardha Kumbha Mela at Godavari Dham this year!

Dhangadhi: Discussions are underway to hold Ardh Kumbha Mela at Godavari Dham in Kailali this year. Discussions have been started to hold Ardh Kumbha Mela this year as per the plan of organizing Maha Kumbh in 12 years, Ardh Kumbh in 6 years and Makar Mela every year.

Chairman of Godavari Dham Development Committee Padma Raj Joshi said that a meeting has been convened on October 26 to discuss the organization of Ardha Kumbha Mela. This year, the Ardha Kumbha Mela has been added to the Godavari Amrit Mahasnan Divya Sahastrakumbha Darshan Mahakumbha Mela, he said.

Officials of various monasteries and caves in Godavari, officials and members of the First Kumbha Mela, journalists, professors, teachers, social workers, industrialists and businessmen have been invited for the discussion, said Joshi. In the year 2072 BS, a month-long 'Amrit Mahasnan Divya Sahastrakumbha Darshan Mela' was held in Godavari from the day of Maghi.

The fair was formally inaugurated by President Vidyadevi Bhandari on the eve of Mahasnan.
