In Kailali, gangsters run like this in the name of 'Nandu Sarkar'
Dhangadhi: Criminal activities have been on the rise in Lamki, Tikapur and Chisapani areas of Kailali district recently. In Tikapur, 18-year-old Anup Saund and Bhupendra Baduwal were brutally murdered in a span of two weeks. He was killed in Tikapur Nagarpali Ward No. 8 of Kalimati on November 29 and Baduwal of Lamki was killed in Tikapur on November 8.
According to police, gangsters active in Lamki, Tikapur and Chisapani were involved in Baduwal's murder. Police have arrested 10 people on the charge of belonging to the same gang and made them public. According to the District Police Office, Hotel Sangam Chisapani operator Navin Rawal Baduwal is the main accused in the murder case. Rawal is now absconding.
Police investigation has shown that the group he has been leading has been involved in hooliganism and various crimes in Chisapani, Tikapur and Lamki areas for a long time. There are old complaints against him in Tikapur, Lamki and Chisapani Area Police Offices for looting, terror and killing. A local from Chisapani said, "Rawal has been on the police's absconding list since the past. But Rawal was in front of the police in Lamki, Tikapur and Chisapani. The police had no interest in arresting him."
According to a police official involved in the investigation, there is a gang called 'Nandu Sarkar' in Lamki, Tikapur and Chisapani. "It is clear that Naveen has been leading the group. Everyone in the group used to put the Nandu government hashtag in their posts on social media," he said. Now everyone has deactivated their ID." The police officer said.
Prakash Sapkota, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Area Police Office, Tikapur, also admitted this. "It is clear that the Nandu government is running a group in the name of a small government," he said. According to a local in Lamki, those who wanted to join Nandu Sarkar's group had to get a tattoo of Nandu Sarkar written on it and those who joined Sobapat at the beginning used to get Rs 50,000 in cash.
The group had also been extorting money from stone ballast contractors and timber traders and demanding commissions while implementing government schemes in the area. A team of State Police, District Police and Central Bureau of Investigation is active in the investigation.
