Drinking water shortage in Baitadi due to rains
Dhangadhi: There is an acute shortage of drinking water in Chadepani village of Dogadakedar Municipality-7 after incessant rains in October damaged the pipeline. The pipeline was damaged due to a landslide from Shrikot Multipurpose Campus due to rains. Two hundred households have been deprived of drinking water after the landslide damaged the only drinking water line in the village. Local Keshav Raj Bhatta said that the drinking water supply to the village was blocked after the pipeline was damaged. The village has been facing a shortage of drinking water for the past two weeks. "No one is interested in repairing the blocked pipeline.
We are forced to fetch water from a well two hours away," he said. He said, "It is the only drinking water project in the village. It has also been blocked. There is a problem in drinking water as well as sanitation." Even when the drinking water is blocked, the village municipality and the consumer committee have not shown any interest. The problem has arisen due to the non-availability of drinking water in Chadepani, which is 20 kilometers away. Earlier, there was a shortage of drinking water in Chadepani after the landslide damaged the structure of drinking water.
