Lekhraj is the UML in-charge in the Far-West, Bhim Rawal disagrees
Dhangadhi: It has been reported that Lekhraj Bhatt is the CPN-UML in-charge of the Far-West. UML chairperson KP Sharma Oli told vice-chairperson Bhim Rawal that the party in-charge of the Far-Western states would not be changed. During a meeting between top UML leaders held at Oli's residence in Balkot on Sunday morning, Oli said there would be no changes made in the party's current state structure.
Although, Bhim Rawal, who is also the UML's Far-Western in-charge vice-chairman, should be in charge of implementing the 10-point agreement on May 16th, CPN-UML has asked Lekhraj Bhatta to assume the responsibility and Rawal to be the vice-chairman. Bhatta has been appointed UML Far West in-charge since March 7. Bhatta has been appointed UML Far West in-charge since March 7.
At that time, Rawal Madhav was in the Nepal group. Leaders, including Madhav Nepal, split from the UML and formed the CPN-Unified Socialist Party. Rawal, who is also the coordinator of the 10-point task force, is in favor of becoming the coordinator of the Far-West after the party agreed to return in May 16. But Rawal's wish could not be fulfilled because of Chairman Oli. After a dispute between Rawal and Bhatt over the Far-Western Coordinator, Chairman Oli on Sunday morning summoned Vice-Chairman Rawal, General Secretary Ishwor Pokharel, Deputy General Secretary Vishnu Poudel, leaders Subash Nemwang and Far-Western State President Karna Thapa to Balkot. "The division of labor is still there. The responsibility has not changed. In Balkot, Oli had told Rawal, "You should be the vice-president and facilitate." But in the discussion, Bhim Rawal, after returning to the party on June 2075, again stated that he should be in-charge of the Far West.
"I believe that the party should move forward accordingly when it wants to return on May 16," Rawal said, disagreeing with Oli's statement in Balkot. However, Oli disagreed with Rawal's statement and directed him to take the lead only in facilitation. "Yesterday's CPN-UML, CPN-UML and today's CPN-UML exist, there are committees and responsibilities have been assigned, so the responsibilities are the same," the source said, quoting Oli. CPN-UML has given responsibility to leaders Rawal, Bhatt and Karna Thapa in the Far West to facilitate the implementation of the 10-point plan. A 10-point agreement was reached between the 10-member task force of the Oli and Madhav Nepal groups on July 11 to resolve the dispute in the UML, which was revived by the Supreme Court on March 7. In the agreement, it is mentioned that the committees, bodies and people's organizations at all levels of the party will be active in accordance with the political line and line of action passed by the Ninth General Convention and the provisions of the constitution.
