Dhangadhi: The ward convention of the Nepali Congress in Kailali has become uncertain.

The ward convention has become uncertain after the dispute over active membership was not resolved. Congress district vice-president Prakash Bam said that the convention was uncertain due to disagreement over membership.

"We were preparing to do it within 22 days but the membership dispute has not been resolved yet," he said. "Efforts are being made to resolve the dispute at the center." According to him, there is a dispute over active membership in Tikapur Municipality Ward No. 1, Lamki Chuha Municipality, and Kailali Constituency No. 4 of the district.

'Without completing the process, the membership has been added directly from the center. That is why the controversy has escalated, "said Bam. While the ward convention itself has become uncertain, the race for the district chairperson has started.

Incumbent Vice President Bam, leader Narayan Dutta Bhatt, Nrip Bahadur Od, Dr. Ran Bahadur Rawal, Ganesh Deuba, Khemraj Chaudhary, and other leaders are rumored to be aspiring for the post of district president of the Nepali Congress. The party's district president Narnarayan Shah has been in charge of the party for two terms.

There is a provision in the Congress constitution that a third-term president cannot be elected.
