Dhangadhi market inundated due to rainfall

Dhangadhi: The Dhangadhi Market area including LN Chowk, Parkmed, Hospital Line and the main road of Dhangadhi have been inundated due to heavy rainfall on Friday. The road connecting Seti Provincial Hospital to Hasanpur through the Ministry of Social Development has also been inundated.

Local Keshav Raj Bhatta said that water accumulates on the road even during normal rains. "Let alone rain water, even if a drinking water pipe bursts, water collects," he said. "The Ministry of Social Development, Land Revenue Office and COVID-19 Hospital are located on this road but no one focus has been laid on improving the road and drainage system in the area," he said.

The road has also been included in the 10 km road project being constructed in Dhangadhi with the loan assistance of the Asian Development Bank. But the work has not started yet. Along with the Ministry of Social Development, there are offices of Napi, Land Revenue, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, State Health Supply Management Center, Health Office and the COVID-19 Hospital on the inundated road.
