Dhangadhi: The use of bulldozers in the name of road construction is increasing in Bajura. Most of the settlements in Bajura are at risk of natural disasters due to increasing use of dozers.

The village of Anai and Jharaule in Badimalika Municipality-9 of the district is at high risk of floods due to the use of indiscriminate dozers. The settlement is at risk as the weak ground is washed away due to continuous rains and dozers digging roads indiscriminately.

Landslides have put locals in crisis. The danger of landslides from the village has increased. A local Jaya Chadara informed that 12 families of Anai Basti and 8 families of Jharaule have been forced to stay awake all night.

He said that the settlement was at risk after dozers were installed during the construction of Martadi Kolti road and weak soil was washed away due to incessant rains. Another local, Mandhari Sunar, said that the road construction company was requested to dump the excavated stones and soil without endangering the settlement.

They demand that the government manage the settlement in a safe place. Meanwhile, the District Administration Office, Bajura has stated that necessary compensation will be provided.
