Approximately 2,000 people used the Jhulaghat checkpoint two days

Baitadi: More than 2,000 people have been passing in and out from Jhulaghat checkpoint of Baitadi in two days.

The checkpoint was opened for two days on Monday and Tuesday under the joint coordination of District Administration Office, Baitadi and Pithoragarh Administration of India.

According to the Jhulaghat border police post, 193 people have received their pensions in a period of two days and 130 people have gone to India for employment. Similarly, 60 people have come to Nepal from India in a period of two days.

Similarly, another 1,575 people also crossed the border during the same time.

The border, which has been closed since last April due to the Coronavirus,  re-opend  time and again in co-ordination with the local administrations of India and Nepal.
