Night Cricket Tournament commences in Dhangadhi
Dhangadhi: Nepal's first ever night cricket tournament has kickstarted in Dhangadhi, Kailali.
The night series organized by Shikhar Youth Club Dhangadhi in Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan-13 started on Saturday evening. Ananta Bohara, president of the organizing club, claims that it is the first tournament of its kind to be conducted at night in Nepal.
The event has been organised to test the visibility and feasibility of night cricket for Under-16 competition. The first match was conducted between Shikhar Warriors and Shikhar Lions on Saturday. Shikhar Warriors have won the first match.
Batting first in the game, Warriors managed to score 81 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the stipulated 10 overs. Rohan Bhatta scored 25 runs while captain Mohit Bohara scored 30 runs with excellent batting. The Lions could not find a way to victory due to Kiran Bohara's impeccable bowling skills.
They lost by 31 runs. Lion's opener Vivek Joshi was golden ducked out on the first ball. The spectators who came to watch the game responded that it was the second Diwali of the year.
