High Dependency Unit to be set up in District Hospital, Doti

Dhangadhi : A High Dependency Unit (HDU) will be brought into operation at the District Hospital, Doti. Two ventilators have been given to the hospital for a three-bed HDU.

Mesu Prakash Thagunna informed that the hospital has received two ventilators for the HDU from Dhangadhi. Generally, such units provide oxygen to the patients who have undergone organ transplant or a major organ surgery. 

Mesu Thagunna said that the high dependency unit will be brought into operation soon after the ventilator reaches the hospital. “HDU can provide most of the services provided in an ICU, but, an ICU is definitely more equipped.  The service will start in Doti Hospital soon after the arrangement for the location is made,” he said.
