Two arrested for beating a village chairman in Baitadi

Dhangadhi: Police have arrested two people on charge of beating Bir Bahadur Bista, chairman of Surnaya Rural Municipality of Baitadi.

Among the arrested are Arjun Madai and Bharat Madai of Ward No. 5 of the same rural municipality. According to DSP Narayan Prasad Adhikari of District Police Office, Baitadi.

Fourteen people, including the village chairman Bista, were assaulted in a dispute over the center of the rural municipality on October 14.

Fourteen people, including Chairman Bista, five policemen, six conflicting parties and three people with the chairman were injured in the clash.
